d. Partnering


If the church endorses, hopefully they will also partner with the pre-field missionary in the matter of financial support. Clarification of the level of that support is needed at this point and mentoring through the process of fundraising and support-team raising (whatever the method preferred by this particular church). Affirmation is vital – it is much easier for others, particularly those in authority in the church, to advocate for their financial support than for the candidate to do that on their own behalf! Someone in their support team might take on helping with crowdfunding or managing the financial side of their preparations to go.
