What do Senders do?

God has chosen the local church to be the primary means for fulfilling Christ’s commission; therefore, churches are primary in the sending process. At FieldPartner, we want to help sending churches to:

•  Affirm the call of one desiring to move to a new culture as a missionary.
•  Partner with agencies in assessing readiness for cross-cultural ministry.
•  Provide opportunities for growth and development in ministry.
•  Join in the partner development journey.
•  Provide ongoing care and support after deployment.

What Cross-Cultural Mission Is & What It Isn't!

We desperately need a Biblical definition of cross-cultural mission today. “James Hudson Taylor (Chinese: 戴德生) was a British Protestant Christian missionary to China and founder of the China Inland Mission. Taylor spent 51 years in China” (Wikipedia). Hudson Taylor was a cross-cultural missionary! But we also need to define what Hudson Taylor was not: i) […]

Mary Slessor, 1848-1915, was a Scottish Presbyterian missionary to Africa. She made a huge impact on Nigeria and beyond. Today, hospitals, schools, orphanages and churches all stand […]

Lottie Moon: Carving A Place For Women In Mission

I mentioned Lottie Moon (Charlotte Digges "Lottie" Moon, 1840-1912) in connection with the story of Sallie Holmes. The simple facts are these: Lottie was a Southern Baptist missionary to China with the Foreign Mission Board for almost 40 years from 1873-1912. She was a strong woman whose love of Jesus and passion to follow Him […]

The Missionary Time Forgot?

In our interview with our former co-worker in China, Bev Gigney, she shared a poignant story about losing a close friend from her sending church, who was nicknamed Bubbles. Of all her supporters, Bubbles was the one she was closest to; she was a faithful and dedicated intercessor. Bev testified that she could sense the […]
